Students looking to study in Newcastle have a variety of options open to them when deciding where they want to live.
UNIVERSITY HALLS OF RESIDENCE
Newcastle University provide 14 different residences for undergraduate students looking to study at the university. All accommodation costs between £80 – £140 per week, depending on the facilities available to the students and whether the residence is catered or not. St Mary’s College is the most affordable option for students, with it’s location – two miles away from the city centre and the main campus – and it’s facilities – with bathrooms shared between three to six people – keeping the price low and making it ideal for any students looking for accommodation on a budget.
At the other end of the scale, the city centre en-suite rooms offered by The View are the most expensive option available, however the price reflects the quality of the residence on offer.
Northumbria University, located just a 10 minute walk away from Newcastle University, has a similar selection of accommodation available to undergraduates. Prices range from £70 – £120 per week, with a variety of options available. Claude Gibb, located on the university’s campus, is the only catered residence, while New Bridge Street, Winn Studios, Trinity Square and Camden Court are the only accommodation options that offer en-suite facilities.
